Indian Wedding Outfit Ideas | PART 1

Summer Weddings are here and they are no less than a festival in India. They start with the pre-wedding function called Engagement, followed by multiple ceremonies, and end with a post-wedding function called Reception. Attending these events is always fun and I know all you girls out there want to look your best.

So, I’m sharing many outfit ideas for each event that you can try and become the star of the wedding. I’ve tried to include everybody’s style in this post and you will definitely one for yourself. So, without any further ado, let’s get into the post.

# ENGAGEMENT

Starting with the first function and that is Engagement/Roka Ceremony. An embellished lehenga skirt with a simple top and vice versa with a minimally embellished dupatta would be a great option for the engagement party. Look at the first outfit below, it looks so chic and beautiful. The full sleeves blouse topped with neon sequins is adding that bling to the outfit and I love how V-neck details accentuating the neck beautifully. Lastly, pair it with statement earrings and tied hair to make a stunning appearance.

Since everybody loves to sport a colorful outfit in the wedding function, wearing a nude color lehenga makes you stand out from everyone. Look at the picture below, the blouse is not embellished but then the off-shoulder top is definitely a statement itself. Keep your makeup dewy with a subtle nude lip and pair it with heels and some minimal jewelry. This outfit looks best without a dupatta, so it is amazingly comfortable and makes for a great engagement outfit too.

If you are not comfortable in off-shoulder tops, you can switch to this kind of cropped shirt as well. They look equally classy. One tip I would like to give here is that look for little details if you are opting for a simple blouse. Here, the bell sleeve is adding that extra element. All you need is a pair of statement earrings and a pulled-back messy ponytail with fresh and dewy makeup and you’ll be set.

If you are married and want to wear a saree, you can definitely wear that. Try your hands on a handwoven saree as Alia did. It’s a beautiful Bandhej saree with a mix of pastel colors and I love the way she wore just one dainty jewelry accessory i.e a tiny maangtika. If you are a digger for minimal aesthetics, this look is definitely something you need to bookmark right now.

# HALDI

Haldi Ceremony is one of the most fun-filled functions in any Indian wedding and when it comes to choosing a Haldi Ceremony dress, Yellow is definitely the color of the Ceremony! A floral print lehenga with a cape jacket is perfect for this daytime event. Kohl-rimmed eyes with a bright red lip, a pair of dainty earrings, and wavy curls are enough to complete the look.

Gone are the days when you had to worry about draping and pinning a saree properly. It is the era of pre-draped saree or sarees skirt that you can slip into in a jiffy! This beautiful frilled saree skirt topped with a flower motif can be another effortless option for the Haldi function. Easy to wear and easy to carry. All you need to pair it with complementing blouse and statement earrings.

This head-to-toe yellow Anarkali is yet another fun outfit choice you can flaunt in a Haldi function. This is one outfit that flatters on every body type and can be seen in everybody’s wardrobe. If you have to keep an eye on wedding preparation while attending the function, you should opt for an Anarkali. A pair of statement earrings and juttis will sort you for the day.

# MEHENDI

As the Mehendi function is all about getting your hands and feet tattooed with henna for which you might be sitting for quite a long time, you should wear something really comfortable and light. Having said that, Garara is one such outfit that looks feminine and is a unique fashion statement. There are so many colors available in the market and on online sites as well. So, you can try the one you like. Place the dupattas around the neck and just wear the statement earrings. Lastly, pair it with juttis, and don’t forget to carry a clutch to steal the show.

Saree is the most versatile and elegant outfit a woman can wear. It is a statement that will never go out of the trend and wearing it will definitely make the heads turn in the function. So, pick an easy-breezy chiffon saree and accessories it well. Since Mehendi is a daytime event, choose a bright color saree. I agree, these days people are donning a pre-draped saree mostly, but this six yards of grace has its own charm that no style can beat.

This beautiful bottle green suit is another option you can try if don’t wanna experiment more with your outfit. The thing that attracts me the most to this color is the way it exudes royalty! To accessories, a big chandbalis, curl wavy hair, and kohl-rimmed eyes with a mauve lip complement the look really well.

Above all these, there are people like me who don’t want to get into the hustle of carrying a dupatta or taking care of Saree’s pallu. So, try this kind of ethnic jumpsuit. You will find varieties of options on Indya. Moving ahead, leave the tresses open, and adding a pair of big chandbaalis, choker and a statement ring for jewelry would be enough to finish off the look.

That’s it for today’s guys. I wanted to include every event in one post only but then the blog post has become so long, so, decided to divide it into two parts. I will be publishing part 2 asap. Until then, keep scrolling to part 1 and get some kick-ass inspo for the Big Fat Indian Wedding. Have fun reading!!🌈🥀❤

Until next time, B Y E!🤗💛
